PaperCut’s most advanced print management solution yet adds support for popular Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, along with a plethora of enhancements to features designed for business and education.
Paper Cut Release 20.0

It’s such a feature-rich release that it’s hard to choose our top 5, but we’ll have ago…

  • Integration with Epic Systems – one of the world’s most used EMR applications
  • Mobility Print updates – including new cloud printing over the internet
  • Print Deploy updates – lets users self-install/uninstall available printers
  • New Application Server failover – protect customers with a network load balancer
  • Now enables 3rd party reporting tools to gain access to PaperCut MF data

But it’s hard not to comment on a few more…

  • Enhanced Multifunctional Device (MFD) Deployment improvements – speeds up rollouts via easy CSV uploads
  • Device scripting leaving the #Percolator with support for more MFD platforms
  • New data integrations to give customers real and actionable insights
  • Extended UPN/ Multi-domain support (in Percolator, currently at beta stage) to include Google Cloud Directory
  • Improvements and updates to a wide range of MFD functions
Epic integration

Headlining PaperCut 20.0 features is the new official partnership with Epic, allowing them to work on a print management offering available on Epic’s App Orchard gallery.

With the new Epic compliance, hospitals and healthcare providers now have strong print management features like secure printing, Find-me printing and print log tracking.

The updates make it perfect for SME organizations such as clinics, right through to large enterprise style hospitals.

Education

Similarly, education institutions, from the smallest schools to multi-campus universities, require a high level of control over access, security, and costs, which can often be obscure, to say the least.

With the average student wasting 3,200 sheets of paper annually, costs and environmental harm can spiral, with a single sheet of paper using up to 10 litres of water during its manufacture, let alone the trees used.
Paper Cut Reduces Cost and Environmental Impact

PaperCut keeps these costs low with full visibility, tracking, and tools for change. Create policies like duplex and black and white printing, check if you even need to print at all, and run built-in reports to see newfound savings and focus areas.

Smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks… Most students have at least one, so it’s crucial they’re all print-ready.
Paper Cut Easy Printing

PaperCut plus Mobility Print lets you print from anything, anywhere, anytime – no extra apps needed. Self-install Mobility Print in minutes to print from the device’s native interface, and avoid lock-in to specific brands and types.

From student files to report cards, a lot of your school’s printing needs to be kept secure and confidential.

PaperCut secures staff and student data to guarantee privacy. Reduce uncollected printouts by authorizing release at the printer, safeguard data with end-to-end encryption, and protect ownership with watermarks and digital signatures.

Further education requires a tool that not only enables printing but let thousands of users pay as they go without hassle.
Paper Cut Pay As You Go

PaperCut recoups costs by integrating with payment gateways and card systems. Allocate quotas to students and departments, enable top-up via bank accounts or fund systems like PayPal, and encourage students to think twice before printing.

3rd Party Reporting

New goodies such as 3rd party reporting tools have been enabled to provide access to PaperCut MF data, letting you optimize your print fleet and understand trends of usage over time to make informed decisions about access security and cost centres.

Conclusion

Healthcare is the big winner, but by allowing users to self-install printers, provide greater stability and uptime, Mobility improvements and print management features like secure printing, Find-me printing, print log tracking, and 3rd party reporting tool, the application is now the essential tool for any businesses, charities, education establishments that run multiple devices and need to control data security and costs.
